Questions and answers

Noise, limiters & curfews

Noise rules end more Devon wedding receptions early than anything else. These answers explain what each restriction controls and where headphones genuinely solve it.

Can neighbours hear a wedding silent disco?

They should not hear the headphone music as they would a conventional speaker system, but they may still hear guests, vehicles, doors or other activity around the venue.

Will singing guests trigger a venue sound limiter?

It depends on the limiter, where its microphone is located and how loudly guests are singing. Silent disco removes speaker output but cannot control human voices.

Can a silent disco bypass a venue's licence conditions?

No. Silent disco equipment does not override licensing, closing-time, occupancy or venue rules.

Can we use silent disco at a venue near residential properties?

Often, yes, and that is one of its strongest use cases. Headphones greatly reduce amplified music escaping outdoors compared with a conventional dancefloor speaker system.
