Is silent disco better than turning the DJ down?
For strict noise restrictions, it can be. A quieter speaker system still sends sound through the room and building, while silent disco moves the music directly to the listener.
Whether it is necessary depends on the venue. If normal amplified music is permitted at a workable level, a DJ may be enough; if the limiter or neighbours are the main problem, headphones can offer a cleaner solution.
