Planning A Silent Disco Wedding Afterparty

The afterparty is the single most common reason Devon couples book headphones: the venue's music has to stop and nobody wants to go to bed.

Agree it with the venue first

Ask two questions in writing: does the restriction apply to amplified music or to all entertainment, and until what time can guests remain in the room. The first tells you whether headphones are permitted; the second tells you how long the afterparty can run.

Plan the switch as a moment

Don't let the music fade out into an awkward gap. Announce the afterparty, hand headphones out during the last amplified song, then start the channels immediately. Momentum is everything at that point in the night.

Practical late-night details

Keep the bar route lit and obvious, decide who is collecting headphones at the end, and pick a genuine last song so the night finishes rather than trails off. If your venue clears the room at a fixed time, brief whoever is packing the cases.
